We haven’t even gotten through Halloween during this pandemic, but live event promoters are already announcing holiday happenings modified for COVID-19.
The Elf on the Shelf’s Magical Journey drive-thru event is coming to the Fairplex in Pomona Nov. 12-Jan. 3, with special preview nights starting Nov. 6.
Guests can get into the holiday spirit from the safety of their personal vehicles as they experience elves coming to the aid of Santa Claus, who has made an emergency landing at the Fairplex because Christmas Spirit is at an all-time low.
As they travel through toy workshops, gingerbread villages and other dazzling seasonal scenes, guests will help the elves build the Christmas spirit throughout the experience as Santa repairs his sleigh in an effort to be on his way by Christmas Eve. The whole experience will be narrated and include music that can be heard through a smartphone device with an Android Operating System or iOS.
Tickets start at $24.95 for adults and $19.99 for children and go on sale at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 22. There’s also an early bird on-sale (from 9-11 a.m. Sept. 22) for those that sign up at elfontheshelfjourney.com. This event is also an official Toys for Tots drive and patrons can bring a new, unwrapped toy to the event to be donated.
