Santa Anita Park to serve as voting center

ARCADIA — Santa Anita Park announced Wednesday that it will serve as a Los Angeles County voting center for the first time in the Arcadia racetrack’s nearly 86-year history.

Santa Anita will open the first floor of its Club House for voting from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. between Oct. 30 and Nov. 2 and from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 3.

Voters will enter the track through Gate 5 on the northeast end of the property and can park near the Club House entrance.

“The LA County Registrar-Recorder and County Clerk have put together a safe presidential election plan to ensure that public health guidelines are adhered to in all voting centers across L.A. County and we’re very proud to have been selected,” said Pete Siberell, Santa Anita’s director of community Services and special projects.

He noted that there won’t be any impacts to the track’s autumn racing meet, which ends Oct. 25.
