Emmys 2020: ‘Friends’ staged a mini-reunion, and Twitter was only half impressed

The 72nd Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 20 threw in a surprise mini-reunion no one on social media anticipated.

Jennifer Aniston, who presented the first award of the night, was joined by her “Friends” castmates Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow as part of an ongoing bit with host Jimmy Kimmel. The comedian told the actress that all nominees were required to be at home to receive the golden statue.

Aniston, Kudrow and Cox played along with Kimmel, making a few references to the ‘90s show like being “roommates since 1994.” Another surprise showed up in the mini-reunion, actor Jason Bateman, who was also nominated for an award — though he was not Ross, Joey or a Chandler.
